A Call to Artists

Business for the Arts of Broward (BFA) is seeking entries from established and emerging artists for our inaugural ART + STROLL event. Work must be original in concept, design and execution. Works will be selected based on originality, creativity, workmanship and artistic distinction.
BFA is seeking 2D work, no larger than 30” wide by 60” high. 3D art such as sculpture, ceramics, fashion or other free-standing artwork may be submitted but accepted artists are responsible for providing pedestal to display and will have to set up/deliver their art on Wednesday, November 20th. ART + STROLL will be held on Thursday, November 21 from 5pm – 7pm in downtown Fort Lauderdale in the lobbies of buildings 401, 301 and 450 E. Las Olas Blvd. See entry form for more info.
This is an open call to all artists. The theme and medium are open including but not limited to photography, painting, drawing, print making, paper art, fiber art, wood, clay, metal, glass, sculpture, fashion or mixed media. Works should not exceed 30 lbs.

SUBMISSION: All work(s) must be submitted as 300 dpi jpegs via online submission. Artists may submit up to two (2) different works for consideration that they personally have created. Submit one (1) jpeg of each piece of artwork and Artist’s Entry Form. Please save/send your images/jpegs with Artist’s Name & Title.

Deadline for art submission is September 23, by midnight.

ACCEPTANCE: Accepted artists will be notified in early October. Accepted works may be used for marketing purposes. The ART + STROLL committee has final decision on acceptance of work. Selection will be based upon quality, originality, craftsmanship and artistic distinction. The event is FREE to attend. Upcharge ticket available for a SIP + STROLL ticket which provides a special beverage and food sample tasting in each lobby. Accepted artists will receive two (2) complimentary SIP + STROLL ticket to the event. Accepted artists’ work will be featured in the event program booklet and pre-event advertising. Artists will have the opportunity to showcase and sell their work to our attendees from the business community and several key sponsors.

PICK UP OF UNSOLD WORK: Any works that are not sold should be collected by the artists at the end of the night after 7:00 pm OR on Friday, November 22nd between 9 am – 4pm. A friend may pick up your artwork with the paperwork. If other provisions are desired prior arrangements should be made in advance. Works not collected will be taken to the Business for the Arts of Broward office and held for 2 weeks maximum. Works not collected after 10 business days will be considered donations and may be discarded or sold to benefit BFA.

COMMISSION/PRICING:
BFA will keep 25% commission of sold artwork. Add 25% to your artwork price when submitting.
There is no fee to enter your work.

INTAKE: Accepted 2D works should be delivered to Bellissima Fine Art 3340 SE 6th Ave., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33316 on November 14th.  Accepted 3D works should be delivered to the event lobby on Wednesday, November 20th.  Specific details will be given to accepted artists.
