A Call to Artists

Business for the Arts of Broward (BFA) is seeking entries from established and emerging artists for our annual ART + STROLL event.   Work must be original in concept, design and execution. Works will be selected based on originality, creativity, workmanship and artistic distinction.

BFA is seeking 2D work, no larger than 60” wide by 60” high.  3D art such as sculpture, ceramics, fashion, or other free-standing artwork may be submitted but accepted artists are responsible for providing pedestal to display and will have to set up/deliver their art themselves. ART + STROLL will be held on Thursday, May 19 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm in downtown Fort Lauderdale in the lobbies of buildings 401, 301 and 201 E. Las Olas Blvd. See entry form for more info.

This is an open call to all artists. The theme and medium are open including but not limited to photography, painting, drawing, print making, paper art, fiber art, wood, clay, metal, glass, sculpture, fashion, mixed media and NFT’s. Works should not exceed 30 lbs

SUBMISSION:

All work(s) must be submitted as 300 dpi jpegs via online submission at:    https://www.bfabroward.org/programs/art-stroll/art-stroll-artist-entry-form/

Artists may submit up to two (2) different works for consideration that they personally have created.  Submit one (1) jpeg of each piece of artwork and Artist’s Entry Form. Please save/send your images/jpegs with Artist’s Name & Title.

$5,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to artists as follows: 1st place $3,500, 2nd place $1,000 and People’s choice $500. 

Deadline for art submission is April 1, by midnight.

ACCEPTANCE: Accepted artists will be notified by April 15th.  Accepted works may be used for marketing purposes.   The ART + STROLL committee has final decision on acceptance of work.  Selection will be based upon quality, originality, craftsmanship and artistic distinction.  Accepted artists will receive one (1) complimentary VIP ticket to the event gaining access to the food & beverage areas in each lobby.  Event is FREE to attend by the public. Tickets are an up charge for a Sip & Stroll tasting area.  Accepted artists’ work will be featured online and pre-event advertising.  Artists will have the opportunity to showcase and sell their work to our attendees from the business community and several key sponsors.

COMMISSION/PRICING:
BFA will keep 25% commission of sold artwork. Add 25% to your artwork price when submitting your  sale price.
The fee to enter your work is $30 for up to 2 entries.  Entry fee will be used as part of the cash prizes paid to artists.  Artists are responsible for delivery of work to buyer, if sold.
