FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Oct. 11, 2012) – Business for the Arts of Broward (BFA) has announced three new members to its Board of Trustees: Gail Bulfin, Vice President of Membership Development at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Laurie J. Sallarulo, AVP, Client & Community Relations Manager at PNC Bank, and Nicky Tesser, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Panera Bread.

“These key influencers in the business community were selected to the Board of Directors for their leadership and dedication to the arts,” said BFA Board of Trustees Chair Jarett S. Levan. “Each brings with them a diverse and specialized background that will help further our mission to preserve and promote art and culture in Broward County.”

 

As Vice President of Membership Development, Gail Bulfin develops programming for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, both recruiting new members and maintaining positive relationships with existing members.  The Alliance is Greater Fort Lauderdale and Broward County’s official public/private partnership for economic development.  Bulfin began fostering her critical community relationships as Editor for News Research, Training and Readership at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. A frequent speaker at media workshops both nationally and internationally, Bulfin also holds board positions with Friends of the Museum of Science and Discovery and the Executive Women’s Golf Association.

 

In her role as AVP, Client & Community Relations Manager at PNC Bank, Laurie J. Sallarulo helps non-profits further their mission within the bank’s areas of interest. She has an extensive background in corporate and non-profit management, strategic and financial planning, fundraising, organizational development and program operations. Sallarulo made valuable contacts in the non-profit world as CEO of SHAPE, a youth leadership program she helped double in size, and while working for respected community organizations like Habitat for Humanity and 2-1-1 Broward. Further, as current Commissioner-appointee and Vice Chair to the Broward County Children’s Services Board, Sallarulo makes funding recommendations to the County Commission’s $16 million children’s services budget.

Nicky Tesser, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Panera Bread (Covelli Enterprises), oversees the marketing strategies for Panera Bread in both Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Her responsibilities include marketing programs, brand management, and community partnerships.  Prior to joining Covelli Enterprises, Tesser worked as Marketing Director for CBS Radio in West Palm Beach.  She is involved with several non-profits in South Florida including The Dan Marino Foundation and the Quantum House and serves on the boards for the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Beach County and Leadership Broward Class XXXI.
