Call to Artist Art & Soul 2017
Business for the Arts of Broward (BFA) is seeking entries from established and emerging artists for our 3rd Annual Fundraiser Art & Soul. Work must be original in concept, design and execution. Works will be selected based on originality, creativity, workmanship and artistic distinction. Works previously exhibited at Art & Soul will not be accepted.
BFA is seeking 2D work, 12″ x 12″, 20” x 20” or 30” x 30” including frame (if framed), for its Art & Soul fundraiser on Friday, April 28, 2017 at GALLERYone DoubleTree Suites by Hilton, Fort Lauderdale, FL from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. See entry form for more info.
This is an open call to all artists with 2-D works. Works may extend a few inches in depth off the surface, but must not extend beyond size requirements horizontally or vertically. The theme and medium are open including but not limited to photography, painting, drawing, print making, paper art, fiber art, wood, clay, metal, glass or mixed media. Works should not exceed 30 lbs.
SUBMISSION: All work(s) must be submitted as jpegs via email to Robyn Vegas at firstname.lastname@example.org. Artists may submit up to four (4) different works for consideration that they personally have created. Submit one (1) jpeg of each piece of artwork and Art & Soul Artist’s Entry Form. Please save/send your images/jpegs with Title and Artist’s Name.
Early Deadline for submission is Monday, February 20, 2017 (via email) by 5:00 pm. * One early entry will be selected for cover artwork on our invitation and marketing and artist will be featured in press release.
Final Deadline for art submission is Monday, March 20, 2017 (via email) by 5:00 pm.
ACCEPTANCE: Accepted artists will be notified by March 27, 2017. Accepted works may be used for marketing purposes. The Art & Soul committee has final decision on acceptance of work. Selection will be based upon quality, originality, craftsmanship as well as space availability. Accepted artists will receive one (1) complimentary admission ticket to the Art & Soul event. Additional tickets may be purchased by contacting Robyn Vegas, Program Coordinator. (1 guest of artist ticket will be specially priced at $25. Regular tickets are $50-$60)
PICK UP OF UNSOLD WORK: Any works that are not sold should be collected by the artists at the end of the night after 9:00 pm. A friend may pick up your artwork with the paperwork. If other provisions are desired prior arrangements should be made in advance. Works not picked up on Friday night will be taken to the Business for the Arts of Broward’s office and held for 2 weeks maximum. Works not collected after 10 business days will be considered donations and may be sold to benefit BFA.
